What is ASE Certified?

When an auto mechanic is ASE Certified, it means that they are experts in their field, as certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). An ASE Certified automotive technician has passed the ASE certification exam and has either a two-year automotive degree and a year of on-the-job training or two years of on-the-job training. To maintain their credentials, professional ASE mechanics must keep up with always-evolving automotive technology and pass the ASE exam every five years.
